Glen Oroua School is proud to have a dedicated Native Area - an area of native bush established in the mid 1990s, with a board-walk and outdoor classroom area completed early in 2014.
It has a flourishing undergrowth with seedlings from the originally planted trees covering the forest floor.
The students in Room 1 created Kawakawa Balm as a fundraiser for their camp in 2019 using the Kawakawa plants from this area.
Within this area we can learn about the plants, animals and insects that live there and help them thrive.
It also a place to stimulate creative play and where the imaginations of our tamariki can run wild.
